The most popular games that the most players like are games that make you feel like a badass, and that doesn't jive very well with your weapons and abilities suddenly feeling de-powered (again, from the average "guy on the street" perspective). This sidesteps the issue of having the player feel less powerful (which is looked at as a no-no outside of maybe survival horror but even those games tap into the power fantasy motivation a bit, compare Issac with RE1 Chris Redfield). I seriously doubt they'll nerf the railgun, Tripwire seem terrified of upsetting any player by making something weaker/more balanced, but it'd be a bad idea to do it regardless.Well, it seems to be trendy in game development nowadays (and I don't actually disagree with the philosophy) of not nerfing player abilities but bringing other abilities into line with the strongest one, then making the enemies more dangerous. In HoE 6p KF2 railgun (max headshoot damage, max profile weapon damage, disabled autoaim on railgun for max damage) - one shot scrake, two shots FP.This is my issue with it too.
